www.angling-eastjutland.dk:
Large website on angling in
East-Jutland, Denmark
When it comes to angling in Denmark,
East-Jutland is something very special. Here you may enjoy all
kinds of angling within short driving distances - be it in saltwater
or freshwater, in lakes or rivers. And it all takes place in
breathtaking scenery!
Thus we have the country's longest
river, the River Guden, which offers great fishing
for salmon as well as sea trout. Each year some 5.000 mature
salmon return to this river and close to 1.000 of them are caught
by fishermen in the river.
In 2001 the number of rod caught
fish reached an incredible 2.000 plus which put the River Guden
in the Top Ten European salmon river list! This in addition to
numerous sea trout that may be heavier than most salmon. A fact
proven by the capture of an impressive 12,6 kg sea trout (close
to 28 lbs.) in late May of 2001.
If you are more into saltwater
fishing, East-Jutland offers excellent shoreline fishing for
silvery sea trout - almost year round. In the summer months the
wide open beaches of Djursland and the Bay of Aarhus
are the most productive. Here an amazing salmon weighing in at
18,1 kg (almost 40 lbs.) was caught a few years ago - from the
shoreline. During winter sea trout congregate in closed brackish
water bays of which there are many in East-Jutland.
If you prefer lakes, you should
know that the largest concentration of lakes in Denmark is found
in the Lake District of Silkeborg. Here you may choose
between fishing larger or smaller lakes for a variety of fish
like pike, perch, pikeperch, bream, roach and a host of other
freshwater fishes.
No less than three world records
have been set here! Add to this the fact that you will be fishing
in some of the most beautiful and forest-clad landscapes in all
of Denmark.
