Welcome!

First of all, welcome to my Danish fishing home page!

It was started in 1997 and now contains almost 400 articles and many more pictures on general angling, fishing tackle, fisheries biology and angling travel. Unfortunately, almost all of it is in Danish which will leave a lot to be desired if you do not speak Danish...

For your information I am a fisheries biologist by education from the University of Århus but now a full time outdoor writer and photographer by profession. I work for a number of magazines - mostly the Scandinavian fly only magazine "Flugfiske i Norden" where, besides being one of the founders and present coowner, I am on the editorial staff. I also have my own angling page in "Jyllands-Posten", the largest Danish newspaper with a circulation of some 250.000 during weekends.

Being a fisheries biologist by education (and profession for some years) I deal a lot with environmental issues where and when they pertain to fish and water. I also specialise in fly fishing and travel all over the world to sample exotic fishing and thus get new material for new articles and books. Of which I have written 22 so far - in my own name. Besides that I translated 7 books into Danish and co-authored another 10 international books.

Apart from that I have hosted some 14 TV programmes on angling here in Denmark and abroad. Countries covered have been Tanzania, Scotland and the Bahamas. If you want to see pictures from these and other exotic destinations around the world, then click on the link below.

But let us cut the story short. You have probably stumbled upon this home page because you were looking for some information on fishing in Scandinavia in general or Denmark in particular.

So, for your convenience I have compiled the most essential facts about the fishing possibilities we have here in tiny Denmark - and giant Greenland! So far there are 19 articles to choose from - 12 of them on the angling possibilities in each month of the year.

Enjoy and do feel free to contact me if you need guiding or critical information not found elsewhere.

I am available for guiding on a day-to-day basis - be it in freshwater for salmon, trout and grayling or pike, perch and zander. Or in saltwater for sea trout, cod, flounder and more.

Flyfishing or spinning, walking, wading or boating!

The choice is yours!
